Prior to joining the fellows program, she worked as a financial coordinator at Shatil, the New Israel Fund's empowerment and training center for Israel's social change organizations, where she built and managed project budgets and expenses.

In the military, Kahanov served at the Israeli Air Force as a command room coordinator.

Kahanov received a B.A in economics and political science from the Hebrew University, where she is now pursuing an M.A in political science with a focus on the political economy.
